New Miss Malibu and Miss Malibu Teen Crowned in Local Pageant Event

Miss California USA 2009 Tami Farrell and KTLA’s Emmy Award winning Entertainment News Anchor Ross King served as hosts for the occasion which included performances by Atlantic Records recording artist Ryan Cabrera, American Idol Season 7 finalist Michael Johns and the newest artist on Joe Simpson’s label An-ya.


MALIBU, CA, August 24, 2009 – The Miss Malibu Organization held its 5th annual pageant on Sunday, August 23rd with strong support from the Malibu community and several notable media personalities in attendance. The newly crowned Miss Malibu USA 2010, Bianca Peters, is a 19 year old broadcast journalism major, a member of the National Honor Society,and is a 3x CIF swimmer. Miss Malibu Teen USA, Farah Griffin, is a 14 year old student at Oaks Christian High School and the granddaughter of media mogul Merv Griffin.

A private Malibu estate previously owned by music icon Cher was the site of the event which included over 40 contestants who have served as community leaders and are top achievers both academically and philanthropically. Judges for the event included GRAMMY Award winning music star and actor Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges, Reality TV Star Khloe Kardashian, Elisabeth Röhm (Law and Order, Miss Congeniality 2), Eric Viskovicz (Celebrity Personal Trainer), Jeff Garner (Designer), Marnie Saitta (Days of Our Lives Head Casting Director), Michael Yo (E! Celebrity Correspondent) Shaun Toub (Iron Man) and Timothy Durham (CEO, National Lampoon).

Tami Farrell, who was crowned Miss Malibu USA 2009 prior to becoming Miss California USA, and Miss Teen Malibu 2009, Greer Grammer, daughter of Emmy Award winning actor Kelsey Grammer, graciously passed their crowns on to their successors.

Miss Malibu USA 2010 Bianca Peters and Miss Malibu Teen USA 2010 Farah Griffin will go on to compete for the titles of Miss California USA and Miss California Teen USA in November at the Riviera Resort and Spa in Palm Springs, CA.

The Miss Malibu Organization hopes to offer a venue where young women in the local community from 14 to 26 years old can grow personally in poise, confidence, goal setting, public speaking, communication skills, physical fitness and self-discipline. We also strive to open doors and provide career and educational opportunities, not only to the winner but also to all the young women who participate. Miss Malibu and Miss Malibu Teen USA will promote our sponsors and be active in community service programs and charity outreach.
